Ontario: Children aged between 5 to 11 in Ontario are eligible from Thursday to get a COVID-19 booster shot as officials gear up ahead of rising infections this fall.

From today onwards, parents living in Ontario will be able to book booster shots of Covid-19 for their children from today.

This announcement was made by Chief Medical Officer of Health yesterday.

He said that these an appointment can be booked on the province’s vaccine portal from 8:00 a.m. Appointments can also be booked through local public health units and through some pharmacies and health care providers.

Earlier this month, Health Canada said it had approved Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine as a booster dose for children in this age group.

The government said the third dose should be given at least six months after the second dose.
