Chandigarh: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal will not appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) set up to probe the Kotkapura firing incident.
He was scheduled to appear before the court in Zira today. The SIT, headed by ADGP L K Yadav, had summoned Badal for questioning at the Punjab Police Officers’ Institute, Sector 32, Chandigarh at 10.30 am today, a SAD worker said.
The Akali Dal alleged that Badal didn’t receive any summon in this regard while the AAP government claimed to have handed over him a summon last week.
AAP accused Badal of running away from a probe in a significant case of firing incident in which two peaceful protesting Sikhs had died seven years ago when he was Home Minister of the state.
