Patiala: Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Assembly and senior Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa dared Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to conduct a probe into the alleged Rs 3,400-crore scam that took place during the tenure of former chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh if he was honest in the true sense.
He said that vigilance teams should be sent to Moti Mahal to expose this alleged embezzlement.
Bajwa, however, referred to the CBI case registered against Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia over Delhi’s excise policy and advised the AAP government in Punjab to turn its back on its generation. Triggering a fresh debate in Amarinder Singh’s home turf here, Bajwa said that during the Captain government, Congress MLA Randeep Singh Nabha had written a letter to the Prime Minister raising the issue of alleged embezzlement of Rs 3,400 crore in the case of 34 banks to be built at a cost of Rs 12,000 crore in Bathinda related to agricultural machinery.
He said that despite former Health Minister Vijay Singla’s alleged corruption being exposed by the Chief Minister, the same Vijay Singla has been the adornment of AAP meetings and government functions today. Giving more such examples, Bajwa also accused the AAP government of adopting double standards.
Asked Preneet Kaur to quit Congress
Partap Singh Bajwa has appealed to Member of Parliament Preneet Kaur to leave the Congress fold. Bajwa said Preneet Kaur was no longer a part of the Congress and was associated with the party only to save her Lok Sabha membership.
Addressing media persons at the Circuit House here, Bajwa said it was the “sole duty” of Preneet Kaur to leave the Congress fold now. Moti Mahal has no base without the Congress.
