Finland’s young Prime Minister Sanna Marin has said on Friday that she has undergone a drug test and the report of the investigation will come next week amid under fire over her viral video of partying.
Her video of dancing with her friends went viral on social media and she was under pressure from the opposition to undergo a drugs test. Footage from the viral video showed the young leader dancing with the Finnish popstar, triggering a furore.
This video footage of Sana Marin was revealed when she was seen dancing during the party.
Finland’s 36-year-old Sanna Marin was criticized for partying in this leaked video, with some politicians saying that she should get tested for drugs.
The PM, who has been surrounded by such allegations, told a press conference on Friday that she has undergone the test and the results of this test will be available by next week. Marin reiterated her claim of not taking any kind of drugs. She told reporters: “I have not done anything illegal.”
“Even in my teens, I have not used any kind of drugs”, said PM Sana Marin, adding that she has undergone a drug test to address the concerns. She insisted that she wanted to prove her innocence and she deserved it.
Journalists questioned whether PM Marin would have been able to take such immediate government decisions if needed. “I don’t remember even once that suddenly at midnight there was a situation of going to the State Council Palace. I think my ability to function was really good, there was not even a known meeting on the day I was partying.”
