International travel is about to get a whole lot easier.
The Biden administration announced that starting Sunday, the United States will no longer require a Covid-19 pre-departure test to enter.
A Senior administration official said the requirement will be lifted just after midnight on June 12. The rule change comes more than a year after it began requiring a negative test for entry.
As of current entry requirements air passengers entering the United States must have a negative viral coronavirus test within one day of boarding their flight. All travellers were subject to the rule, regardless of vaccination status or citizenship, but travellers 2 and older who had recently recovered from the virus were exempt.
