Liquor stores in British Columbia are pulling Russian liquor products off the shelves.

Deputy Premier Mike Farnworth has announced a ban on the sale of Russian liquor at BC Liquor Stores and provincial liquor distribution centres following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Ontario, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick have made similar moves in the sale of Russian liquor in their provinces.

Farnworth says B.C. will donate $1 million to the Red Cross to help people in Ukraine.

BC Premier John Horghan tweeted, “Our government has put an immediate halt to the importing and sale of Russian liquor products from BC Liquor Stores and BC liquor distribution centres. We stand with those who want to live in peace and against those who commit deplorable and illegal acts of aggression”
