The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has identified the victim of a shooting on November 1, 2021, in Maple Ridge and is seeking information from the public.

On November 1, 2021, at approximately 6:41 pm, Ridge Meadows RCMP responded to shots fired in the area of 25387 102 Avenue, Maple Ridge.  When first responders arrived, they found one male victim suffering from bullet wounds.  Despite life saving measures by EHS, the male succumbed to his injuries. The victim has been identified as 57-year-old Daniel William Delmark from Maple Ridge. Daniel Delmark is not known to police and has no connections to the ongoing Lower Mainland gang conflict.

IHIT is continuing to investigate with the assistance of Ridge Meadows RCMP, the Integrated Forensic Identification Section, and the BC Coroners Service. The scene has been secured but the investigation is still in its initial stages.  Canvassing for witnesses and video surveillance is ongoing.

Homicide investigators are seeking video surveillance and dash cam video of any persons or vehicle in the area of Lougheed Hwy, 100 and 102 Avenue around 264th Street. The key times for footage is between 6 to 7 p.m.

“We are still determining what transpired,” says Sergeant David Lee of IHIT, “what is confirmed is that Mr. Delmark was not known to police. It is extremely important that the friends of associates of Mr. Delmark reach out and contact us.”
