Jammu: Five soldiers were killed after their vehicle fired on by unidentified terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Thursday.

The incident took place near Bhimber Gali and Poonch at 3 pm. Earlier, it was said that the vehicle accidentally got fire but later it came to fore that terrorists have used grenades to attack army men while taking advantage of heavy rains and low visibility.

Five army personnel have died due to the fire. One soldier is seriously injured. He has been admitted to the Army Hospital in Rajouri. The search operation for the terrorists is going on.

As soon as the army vehicle caught fire, local people also gathered and launched the rescue operation.

Earlier, it was reported that two soldiers had died in this incident, but later death toll rose to five. Top army officials have reached the spot.
