Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A major accident took place on Ram Navami in Beleshwar Mahadev Jhulelal temple in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
More than 30 people fell into a 40-feet deep bawdi due to the roof collapse. Of these, 13 people have died. The rescue team has rescued 20 people. Now the rescue operation is over.
There is four to five feet of water in bawdi. Therefore, there was a problem in the rescue operation.
Indore Collector Ilaiah Raja gave this information. “A judicial inquiry will be conducted into the matter. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan spoke to indore collector and announced financial assistance for the families of the deceased and the injured.
Meanwhile, Rs 4 lakh will be given to the families of the deceased in the accident. At the same time, financial assistance of Rs 50000 will be given to 20 injured.
According to eyewitnesses, the accident took place during a havan at Sneh Nagar on Sapna Sangeeta Road. There was a program of Kanya Pujan, so there was a lot of crowd in the temple.
More than 30 people were sitting on the roof and it broke due to excessive weight. People fell down 40 feet. This temple is about 60 years old.
According to the information, construction and excavation work is going on in the temple premises. Due to the construction work in the temple premises, there is a possibility of the floor falling due to the collapse of the wall of the well.
Apart from this, some people also said that the well is hollow due to rats. However, no official has given a statement about the cause of the accident so far.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has discussed with Indore Collector Indore Commissioner over phone and instructed to speed up the rescue operation.
