Chandigarh: Bharat Inder Singh Chahal, a former advisor to Captain Amarinder Singh, has been summoned again by the Punjab Vigilance. This is the tenth time he has been summoned by the vigilance as he failed to appear before the investigating agency to record his statements in connection with the disproportionate assets case.
Chahal’s anticipatory bail plea has been rejected by the court. The vigilance investigation team has sought records of properties built in the last 6 years from Chahal.
Chahal has been issued notices ten times in the past months to join the investigation, but neither has he responded to any notice nor has he reached the vigilance office to join the investigation.
Punjab Vigilance has also pasted notices outside Chahal’s house and palace. But despite every action taken by the investigation team, Chahal did not turn up to join the investigation. It is not clear whether he will appear before the investigation team this time too.
The technical team of Patiala Vigilance Bureau has also conducted physical examination of the properties of Bharat Inder Singh Chahal. The team has already mapped their marriage palace and shopping mall on Patiala-Sirhind Road.
Following the lapses revealed during this time, notices have been issued to Chahal by the vigilance team to join the investigation.
