Toronto: Toronto police have detained two persons after Scarborough’s high school was locked down on Thursday afternoon.
Around 1:00 p.m., police arrived at the David and Mary Thomson Collegiate School near Lawrence Avenue on Midland Avenue after receiving reports of a man carrying a gun.
Police said they have located one replica firearm inside the school and two persons have been taken into custody. Police are on the lookout for two other persons. Police said they could not say whether the two belonged to the school or not.
The police also said that the lockdown has been lifted and students have also been allowed to go home. No injuries have been reported so far.
A year ago, an 18-year-old boy died after a shooting took place in David and Mary Thompson.
