Mumbai: In a big disclosure NCB’s vigilance submitted its report to the CBI on May 11, it has been revealed that former NCB officer Sameer Wankhede has sought Rs 25 crore bribe from Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan in Cordelia Cruise.
The vigilance probe began on October 25, 2021. The report nailed the then Mumbai zone director of vigilance NCB, Sameer Wankhede, Superintendent Vishwa Vijay Singh and Intelligence Officer Ashish Ranjan.
On October 2, 2021, there was a raid in Cordelia Cruise. The vigilance probe found that the list of suspects initially had 27 names in the note but the team reduced them to 10. Many of them were allowed to go without paperwork.
Drugs were found from the shoes and zip of a person named Arbaaz. But no documents were made about it. Siddharth Shah, who supplied charas to Arbaaz, was also released.
The investigation also revealed that the suspects were brought in the vehicle of independent witness K V Gosavi. Kv Gosavi was portrayed as an NCB officer. Kv Gosavi and his associate Sanville D’Souza conspired to extort Rs 25 crore from Aryan Khan’s family. He threatened to implicate her in the case and finally the deal was struck for Rs 18 crore. K V Gosavi took Rs 50 lakh as token money.
However, some part of it was later returned. At the behest of Sameer Wankhede, KV Gowasi posed as an NCB officer and dragged Aryan Khan from here to there and threatened him and took a selfie with him.
Sameer Wankhede could not properly explain the source of the expenses of his foreign trips. The investigation also revealed that Sameer Wankhede was involved with a private person in the purchase of expensive watches. He did not tell the department about this.
