Amritsar: Robbers broke into the Punjab National Bank (PNB) in Broad daylight on Thursday and committed a robbery. Two robbers on a white scooty looted Rs 22 lakh from the bank within minutes and fled.
The entire incident was captured in a CCTV camera installed inside the bank. After the incident, the police reached the spot and started investigating by taking possession of the CCTV footage.
The incident took place in Rani Ka Bagh, one of the posh areas of Amritsar. At 12:09 pm, two robbers reached outside the Punjab National Bank on a scooty. According to the police, one of the robbers was standing outside. While the other masked man went inside the bank. She was wearing a yellow T-shirt and a hat.
The robber, who entered the bank, was carrying a pistol in their hands. They went straight outside the cashier’s window and threatened the employee sitting there with a pistol.
After this, they asked the cashier to grab a white envelope and put all the cash in it. At that time, about Rs 22 lakh were kept on the cash window. The cashier put all the money in the envelope, which the robber picked up and got out of the bank.
Police have launched and investigation and yet not get any lead in the case to trace accused.
