For the third day in a row Quebec has set a record for new COVID-19 infections.

The province is reporting 5043 new cases and eight deaths.

With more than 8000 active cases in Montreal, Mayor Valerie Plante has re-introduced a state of emergency, which had been lifted in August.

New restrictions went into effect yesterday in B-C, but as cases surge, top officials may impose more at an afternoon news conference
