Chilliwack: The RCMP have said a person has been arrested for attempting to rob a financial institution in the 9200 block of Young Road in Chilliwack.
In a press release, the RCMP said officers received a report of this incident at 12:15 pm on Thursday and the man was said to be armed with a weapon.
The Mounties said all available police resources, including front line members, Integrated Emergency Response Team, RCMP Air Services and Police Dog Services, proceeded to the area.
At 1:35pm, a 64-year-old man was taken into police custody without incident and no one was physically injured during this event, according to the RCMP.
Chilliwack RCMP Victim Services have been engaged to support those affected.
