Senior BJP leader and Maharashtra cabinet minister Girish Mahajan created a buzz by appearing on a stage and calling the victims of Operation Blue star as 'martyrs'. 

Mahajan spoke in an annual programme to commemorate the victims of Operation Blue start at historic Mehta Chowk in Amritsar on June 6.

Calling Operation Blue Star a military action, Mahan termed June 6 as a 'Black Day'. He also accused former Prime Minister (PM) Indira Gandhi for sending the Indian Army to the Golden Temple.
