New Delhi: A program was organized on the occasion of ‘Veer Bal Divas’ on Monday at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium in Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also attended the event. This program was dedicated to the sacrifice Sikh Guru- Guru Gobind Singh, his four sons (Sahibzade), and Mata Gujri Ji.

PM Modi said, “India is celebrating the first ‘Veer Bal Divas’ today. I bow down at the feet of the brave Sahibzadas and pay a rich tribute to them. I consider it my government’s good fortune to have got the opportunity to declare December 26 as ‘Veer Bal Diwas’ today.”

He said that the battle of Chamkaur and Sirhind is truly unforgettable. It was fought 3 centuries ago, but the past is not old enough to be forgotten. The sacrifices of all of them will always be remembered.

PM Modi further said that on the one hand, an army of millions while on the other hand were brave Sahibzade of the Guru standing fearlessly. These brave Sahibzadas were not afraid of any threat, did not bow down in front of anyone and fought for religion.

Referring to Aurangzeb, the PM said that amidst Aurangzeb’s terror and his plans to transform India into Mugals, Guru Gobind Singh ji stood like a mountain, but what dastardly Aurangzeb did to brave Sahibzade Zorawar Singh Sahab and Fateh Singh Sahab was unforgettable and unforgiveable.
