Toronto: Toronto police said the explosion in the parking lot outside the Yorkdale Mall was caused by nothing but a mechanical issue facing the vehicle.
Police officers were called in after reporting the explosion outside the mall on Dufferin Street around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
There were no reports of any injuries in the incident, but police officials confirmed that the bomb squad was called in after an explosion was detected under a vehicle.
After the investigation, the police said it was not an explosion and that there were reports of loud noises because there was a mechanical snag in the vehicle.
Officials said the vehicle has been removed from there. Initially there were reports of the mall being evacuated but later it was not done.
