Chandigarh: Bharat Inder Singh Chahal, former media adviser to Capt Amarinder failed to appear before the Vigilance in the disproportionate assets case on Friday. Now, the Vigilance has summoned him to join the probe before next Wednesday.
The Patiala Vigilance Bureau has summoned Chahal in a disproportionate assets case. On March 10, Bharat Inder Chahal was summoned to the office of SSP Vigilance, Patiala Range, Jagatveer Singh.
Chahal came into the limelight by building a luxurious marriage palace on Sirhind Road. He was special advisor to then CM Captain Amarinder Singh and during Congress tenure, he had built a large shopping mall on the Central Jail Road in Patiala.
The shopping mall was built after the auction of government land and the site was also recently inaugurated. After a thorough investigation of the properties, the Vigilance was not satisfied and decided to call Bharat Inder Singh Chahal to the office for inquiry.
After this, the summons were issued to Chahal. According to officials, a second summons will be issued to Chahal to appear on Wednesday next week.
