British Columbia: The Village of Pemberton has downgraded an evacuation order for six rural properties, but a flood warning remains in effect for the
area.
The latest update from the village says it lifted the evacuation order due to conditions on the ground as well as “favourable weather” and forecasts, though it says river levels are expected to
continue rising through to Friday.
Several dozen properties remain on evacuation alert in the area, with residents told to be ready to leave on short notice.
A flood warning also covers the Squamish River, and B-C’s River Forecast Centre says rivers on Vancouver Island are also at risk of flooding through to Saturday after days of heavy rain and
significant snowmelt.
