Vaughan: An elderly woman died after being struck by a vehicle in Vaughan Sunday afternoon, York Regional Police said.
York Regional Police were called to Highway 7 at Vaughan Valley Road just after 3:45 p.m on Sunday.
The police reached the spot and found an elderly woman in a critically injured condition who was declared dead on the spot.
Police said the driver of the vehicle in which the woman was hit was present at the spot.
Highway 7 was closed from Highway 427 to Highway 27 to investigate the matter. The police wrote in a tweet that Highway 7 from Highway 27 to Highway 400 currently closed due to a motor vehicle collision. Please avoid the area and use alternative routes. Anyone who was in the area with dashcam please call YRP at 905-881-1221.
Meanwhile, the investigation is underway and police have not yet released any further information about victim, drive and vehicle involved in this road mishap.
