Ottawa: The Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada is investigating complaints that some Loblaw customers can’t delete their PC Optimum accounts. Spokesman Vito Pilieci said they received several complaints but can’t provide more details due to the ongoing investigation.
Loblaw spokesperson Catherine Thomas said the company has processes to handle account deletion requests quickly and will fully cooperate with the investigation.
The Privacy Commissioner’s Office ensures compliance with privacy laws in Canada. Loblaw’s 2023 report states that the PC Optimum loyalty program has over 16 million active users.
