Ottawa is making COVID-19 vaccinations mandatory for federal employees, workers in federally-regulated industries and many travellers.
Privy Council President Dominic LeBlanc says the move is necessary to protect against more dangerous variants of COVID-19.
About 500-thousand people work directly for the federal government, a Crown corporation, the military or the R-C-M-P.
Nearly a million more work in federally-regulated industries, including banks and airlines.
Travellers on commercial airlines, interprovincial trains and cruise ships must also be vaccinated by no later than the end of October.
