British Columbia: A new poll shows that the BC Conservatives are closing in on the BC NDP’s lead as the next provincial election approaches.
According to the poll by Research Co., 41% of British Columbians support the NDP led by David Eby, while support for the BC Conservatives, led by John Rustad, has risen to 38%. This marks a significant shift, especially in southern B.C., where the two parties are now nearly tied. In June, the NDP had an 11-point lead over the Conservatives in this region.
Political analyst Ian Bushfield notes that the BC Conservatives might have reached their peak support level, with potential for more movement from other parties. Despite this, he still sees the NDP as having an advantage due to stronger support in Metro Vancouver and the Island.
The BC Green Party is in third place with 10% support, while BC United is at 9%. All major party leaders have seen a drop in their approval ratings.
The next B.C. election is set for October 19.
