Tel Aviv: Jordan has called off a four-way summit scheduled for Wednesday with U.S President Joe Biden and other leaders to discuss the bloody Hamas militant attack on Israel earlier this month.
This comes after Hamas said a massive explosion at a hospital in Gaza City today killed hundreds of people.
According to the Gaza Health Ministry, at least 500 people have been killed in an airstrike on a hospital.
While Hamas is blaming the Israeli military for the explosion, Israel says the blast was caused by a misfired Palestinian rocket.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has declared three days of mourning after the bombing of a hospital in Gaza City. He has also canceled his meeting with the U.S. president Joe Biden.
Canada Prime Minister Justin Trudeau termed the attack “horrified” and “unacceptable”. He said the war has also some rules and humanitarians rules need to be followed.
Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Jolly said, “bombing a hospital is an unthinkable act, and there is no doubt that doing so is absolutely illegal.”
The war that started October 7th has become the deadliest of five Gaza wars, with the Gaza Health Ministry reporting at least 2,700 Palestinian deaths while Israel has reported more than 1,400 deaths. — With Canadian Press
