Five BC cabinet ministers not seeking re- elections

As many as five minister of British Columbia have announced that they won’t run in the next provincial elections. Judy Darcy, Mental Health and Addictions Minister on Thursday had said that she won’t contest upcoming provincial elections.
There are speculations of provincial elections in this year.
Judy Darcy was first elected MLA for New Westminster in 2013, and was re-elected in 2017. She was appointed British Columbia’s first and Canada’s only Minister of Mental Health and Addictions in July 2017.
Earlier, Forests Minister Doug Donaldson, Social Development and Poverty Reduction minister, Shane Simpson, Indigenous relations and reconciliation minister, Scott Fraser and Finance Minister Carole James had announced that they will not run for elections.
