Ottawa: Conservative M-P Erin O’Toole on Tuesday said he has learned he was the target of Chinese interference during the 2021 federal election.
But he said the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (C-SIS) did not flag the threats against him at the time.
O’Toole stood in Parliament on Tuesday morning to outline the briefing C-SIS has since provided, that alleges the Chinese intended to discredit him and promote false narratives about his policies while party leader.
He spoke after the NDP introduced a motion calling for the government to remove David Johnston from his post investigating foreign meddling. — Canadian Press
