Ottawa: Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) of Canada today has invited 5, 500 candidates to apply for permanent residence under the Express Entry system.
It was the first Express Entry draw of the year today, and the first since November 23. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of lowest-ranked candidate invited was 507 for this draw, which was 16 points higher than last draw issued in November last year.
Last year, CRS score were continuing to drop till eleventh all-program draw since July 6 when it was suddenly stopped due to some technical snags. IRCC had resumed this program last year after a hiatus of about one and half years due to unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic.
Meanwhile, under the express entry draw system, Candidates from the Federal Skilled Worker, Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Trades and Provincial Nominee Program were eligible for this round of invitations.
