Washington: Starbucks workers in the US have gone on a three-day strike from Friday. These workers want to form a union of coffee chain stores.

According to Starbucks Workers United, more than 1,000 bristas from 100 stores are preparing to walk out. This will be the longest strike under the year-long campaign. This is the second major strike by American workers of Starbucks in a month. On November 17, workers of Starbucks and 110 stores went on a day-long strike.

More than 264 of the 9,000 Starbucks stores the company run in the US voted in favor of the decision to form a union at the end of last year.

This union is being opposed by Starbucks. The company says that when it works directly with its employees it is better worked. But last month the company also said it valued employees’ legal right to protest.
