New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to his British counterpart Rishi Sunak and said that they will strengthen the relationship between the two countries.
“Congratulations to Rishi Sunak on taking over as the PM of the United Kingdom today. We will work together to further strengthen our comprehensive strategic partnership. We have agreed on the importance of arriving at a conclusion on a comprehensive and balanced FTA. ”
British PM Rishi Sunak thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “The UK and India share a lot. As we strengthen our security, defence and economic ties, I look forward to what our two great democracies can achieve,” he said.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also tweeted tagging Rishi Sunak, “Heartiest congratulations to you on becoming the Prime Minister of the UK, I look forward to working together on global issues and implementing the roadmap for 2030. As we transform our historical ties into a modern partnership, a special Diwali greeting to the living bridge of British Indians.”
