Ontario: Ontario’s top doctor said that he will make more recommendations on wearing masks ahead of complex and difficult winter battling COVID-19.

Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kieran Moore said that over the past few weeks there has been an increase in the number of hospitalizations of patients due to Covid-19 in the province.

In order to reduce the risk of any such virus spreading of the virus due to personal contact, we are considering making recommendations on wearing masks.

The Health Ministry, however, clarified that said Moore’s recommendations would be to the public, and the government was not going to implement any specific public health standards in this regard.

Moore also urged all province residents to get booster shots. He said about 30,000 people came yesterday for booster dose. This number should increase further. We have vaccines and we can vaccinate up to 80,000 people daily.

Moore also expressed concern over the impact of influenza on the Ontario’s health care system these years and asked people to stay up-to-date with all their vaccines.

Last week, the number of people hospitalized in Ontario due to Covid-19 was the highest in the last two months.
