Toronto: A 23-year-old Punjabi girl reported missing from Surrey several days ago, has been found dead here, police said on Friday.
The Surrey Royal Canadian Mounted Police said a deceased person was located in West Vancouver and later confirmed to be the missing Surrey woman.
The dead body is of Jasvir Parmar, who went missing from Surrey. Criminality does not appear to be a factor in her death and the investigation has been turned over to BC Coroners Service, police said.
Jasvir Parmar, a resident of Surrey, had last contacted with her family on November 22.
After this, she went missing and continuous efforts were on to trace her. During this time, the police had also appealed to the people to cooperate. According to media reports, the police say that nothing of any kind seems to be criminal in this case.
