Bhupinder Singh Dhami joined the Sher-E-Punjab team in 2007 as an Account Executive. Shortly after, he began hosting the spiritual program Gurbani Vichaar. He now also hosts the weekend music show called Sanjhi Dharkan, where he shares some of his favourite Hindi songs with listeners. Bhupinder Singh finds great meaning in the insightful songs of classical singers including Mohammad Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, Mukesh, Kishore and Mohinder Kapoor and says every show he hosts takes him on a trip down memory lane.
Bhupinder Singh was born in Dhamian Kalan (District Hoshiarpur) and obtained his Bachelor of Arts and Education. In 1976, he started teaching English and Social Studies at a secondary school in his home village. Three years later, he immigrated to Canada and settled down in Quesnel, a small city in central British Columbia that he really came to love as home. He worked at the local plywood mill, but moved to Surrey in 2006.
In his spare time, Bhupinder Singh enjoys going for walks and reading books. His favourite author is Narinder S. Kapoor. He is a huge fan of Indian films and Mera Naam Joker is one of his all-time favourites. Besides the music he plays in his show, he also enjoys listening to Dhaddi and Kavishri, which is poetry that promotes spirituality and shares Sikh history.
