Kashmir Janda began his career in broadcast in Kamloops, British Columbia, soon after immigrating to Canada in 1971. His first job was hosting a Punjabi and Hindi music show at a small station. Eventually, he started a 1-hour television show focused on the lives of musicians. Kashmir moved to Surrey and began working with Sher-E-Punjab Radio in 2001 hosting the weeknight show Des Aur Pardes. Although Kashmir obtained a Master of Economics from the Government College of Hoshiarpur, he has had a keen interest in broadcast since childhood. Kashmir was born in Hoshiarpur, India.
When he is not working, Kashmir loves volunteering in the community especially providing interpretation and translation services to individuals and organizations. Having a jovial nature, Kashmir enjoys telling jokes and making people laugh. He says it is important for him to take time to meditate everyday.
